Research Practice

Research Practice

Guildowns Group Practice works with the National Institute for Health Research (the Clinical Research Network for Primary Care), receiving accreditation as a Research Ready Surgery by the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011.

This signifies the practice has achieved 5 core competencies and has up to date knowledge of the standards that are needed to undertake research and physical facilities required to successfully comply with demands based on the latest research governance frameworks.

You may be asked to consider participation within research studies at the practice.

This helps to support knowledge and understanding of modern health treatments. However, there is no obligation for you to take part in research and if you choose not to you can be assured of receiving our normal high standard of care.

We are also members of a national surveillance programme that provides continuous monitoring of infections and diseases in the community as well as RCGP and ethically approved research.
