Welcome to The Guildowns Group Practice

We are a large Practice in Guildford, Surrey with three surgeries and a medical centre, located in the University of Surrey campus.

Our aim is to provide a high standard of health care to patients with courtesy, friendliness and efficiency.

We have a common telephone number for all surgeries and a Practice-wide appointment system to help us find the most convenient appointment for you. Generally each site functions independently with a similar range of services to provide you with a personal service. Some enhanced services and facilities may only be available at specific sites.

Guildowns University Medical Centre has its own area on this website especially for students - click the link on the right or above.

The University also runs its own health promotion unit Student Health Care. For more information, click the link.

Antibiotic Awareness Day
In the run up to European Antibiotic Awareness day on 18/11, our GPs and nurses are joining the campaign to reduce the rise in antibiotic resistance. There will be information at each site reminding us that antibiotics do not help treat coughs and colds and advising about appropriate treatments without encouraging antibiotic resistance. For more information visit www.nhs.uk/antibiotics.

Appointments
Appointments can be booked, cancelled or checked on the internet, via our automated booking system or via a receptionist.

Cancelling your Appointment
Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend, so that others may use your appointment.

Emergencies
In the case of a life-threatening problem, dial 999 for an ambulance.  It is now advisable for anyone suffering acute, severe chest pain (especially if associated with sweating, pain in the neck or left arm or faintness) to dial 999. Any suspected "heart attack" is better dealt with directly by the paramedics in the Surrey Ambulance service.  The nearest casualty department is at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (01483) 571122
