Practice nurses are attached to each site. They are able to advise on a wide range of health concerns as well as providing traditional nursing services. They should be the first port of call for routine childhood immunisations, minor injuries and ailments, dressings, suture removal, smoking cessation and dietary advice. Dedicated COPD, asthma, diabetic and warfarin monitoring clinics are led by the nurses.
|Unless urgent to a specific day, blood tests are no longer taken by the practice nurse. We have a regular 'blood-taking' service at each surgery on specific days of the week. You may be asked to attend a surgery different to your own to have your blood test taken.|
