Many of our trainees are fully qualified doctors who wish to transfer in to General Practice. During your visit you will receive the same quality of care that you would get from your usual GP. However, if you do not wish a trainee to be present at your consultation, please let reception know.
Some consultations may be videoed to help assess the trainee, but only after your written consent has been obtained. The recording will only be used for training purposes; full details of the confidentiality can be obtained from reception.
From September 2016 we will also have Physician Associate Students on placement with us. Physician Associates support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients. The students are learning to conduct consultations, examine patients, undertake procedures and diagnose and treat conditions. If you would prefer not to be seen by a Physician Associate student or have them present during your consultation with the GP or nurse, then please let the receptionist know. If you are seen by a Physician Associate student you will then be seen by a qualified member of staff prior to leaving the surgery. Click here for further information.
